Gemlan Tech Inc. of Ontario Canada have been chosen to assist Canadian Utilities Limited with the development of a 'Mega Solar Power Plant' site which is to be situated on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta.

Canadian Utilities Limited have set aside an area of approximately 100 hectares for the site and its capabilities are expected to be able to produce 20,000 megawatts per hour and to be able to power approximately up to 10,000 households.

The success of the Binh Dinh Province site in Vietnam, which was completed 18 months ago by Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation, was one of the main reasons for Canadian Utilities Limited to pursue such a large-scale project.

A spokesman for the ATCO Group of Companies, who Canadian Utilities Limited are a member of, commented, "As a forward-thinking company we understand the importance of our environmental responsibilities in every aspect of our business framework. The topic of a large-scale solar power plant has been on our agenda since early 2020. Finally, we now have the entire infrastructure, logistics and technology in place to put this plan in to action."

Dr. Lanhua Men, Chief Executive Officer at Gemlan Tech Inc. said, "To be chosen as the company to assist with the development of a project of this size is testament to the entire team at Gemlan Tech. Having discussed the project's requirements in great detail it's really not that demanding from a technological stand-point, as we're not reinventing any wheels. The only exception being the enormity of the project which will no doubt throw a few curve balls at various stages."

It is expected that once the specifics of each of the panel's requirements have been identified Gemlan Tech will then assist with over-seeing the production of these panels, which are expected to be manufactured by Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation.

No exact timeframe has been given for completion of the project outside of it requiring up to 2 years to complete once started.
