Gemlan Tech Inc., the Ontario based company specializing in the research and production of advanced technical solar power systems have recently applied for planning to expand their research and production facility in Stratford, Ontario.

Subject to approval, the existing facility will be increased to nearly 25,000 square feet comprising mostly of factory space for production of their products with the rest being accounted for by office and increased research facilities.

Once approved, the company have allowed a period of 14 months for the extension to be fully operational. Gemlan Tech also expect to employ a further 18 staff at the increased facility.

"An increase to the size of our production facility has been discussed since the middle of last year. We have decided upon increasing our existing facility in favor of relocating to another location based purely on logistics," said Dr. Lanhua Men, Chief Executive Officer of Gemlan Tech.

"As our product range increases, so does the area required to develop and manufacture them increase. We have seen a meteoric increase to our business size over the past few years and need to ensure we are adequately capable of maintaining further increases expected of us," Dr. Men added.

The company expect planning permission to be granted before year-end to allow for the construction to start early next year.
