Gemlan Tech Inc. have announced that they are in discussions with a prestigious UK watch manufacturer to develop a virtually transparent solar cell sheet film that can be used on wristwatches.

The technology being developed will allow for mechanical watches to have an ancillary power supply to allow for digital functions to be added to the timepiece.

The development will allow for a virtually transparent film to be applied over the face of the timepiece that will still allow for the face of the watch to be seen.

Successful trials have already been completed which also tested the film's waterproof capabilities.

Mr. Jing Lan, CEO and Co-Founder of Gemlan Tech Inc. explained, "Although we are still at the early stages of development, we are extremely pleased with the advancements made already by our research teams.
